[ A ] 1UP says "With its fantastic mix of platforming and shooting gameplay, the Ratchet & Clank series has always struck me as a sort of modern day Mega Man. I mean, there are obviously plenty of differences between the two series, but on a fundamental level the two share a perfection and balance of their core mechanics. What attracted us to one series two decades ago still enthralls us today -- though Ratchet & Clank has the benefit of several gameplay lessons developers have learned along the way, from the appeal of item collection to weapon upgrades."

[ 9.0 ] IGN PS3 says "My exposure to the Ratchet & Clank series isn't quite as far reaching as some of the hardcore Ratchet fans out there. I dabbled with the PS2 games and played Size Matters quite a bit, but my first real obsession came in the form of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. After my first playthrough, I entered a period where no game seemed to appeal to me after finally experiencing Ratchet & Clank's fantastic mix of platforming, gunplay and puzzle-solving. So you can imagine that playing Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time was a real treat, as it is superior to its predecessor in almost every way. Once again, the folks at Insomniac have created a fantastic game that combines a number of different gameplay types with a never-ending stream of unlockables and a lovable personality. How could you go wrong? "

[ Buy it ] Crispy Gamer says "Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is the ninth R&C game in seven years. We're all more than happy to give Madden the raspberries for coming out every 12 months. Yet since 2002, R&C games, counting their forays onto the PSP, have been even more ubiquitous than Madden."

[ 9 ] GamesRadar - Reviews says "For the first time in their career as saviors of the universe, Ratchet and Clank have been separated. But the time apart has done them good. This is Insomniac’s most confident game to date, bursting with flair and imagination. By dividing the duo they’ve been able to create two boldly different games in one – a free-roaming space adventure and a brilliantly designed time-bending puzzler. But at the same time, they’ve kept intact the elements that made the series so popular in the first place; namely the humor, the platforming and the outlandish weaponry. Tools of Destruction was near-identical to its PS2 predecessors in terms of structure and gameplay, but A Crack in Time feels like a new experience."
