[ A ] 1UP says "Critter Crunch includes, among its 40-plus stages, a "Barfing Tutorial." To be clear, this is an entire stage designed specifically to train you in how to spew rainbow-colored vomit. Critter Crunch is also one of the most adorable and beautifully animated games available on the PlayStation Network -- even the barfing is kind of cute. "[ B+ ] Gaming Age says "Most people think of puzzle games in a shape sense. Without shapes, it can't be a puzzle game. It's just not Tetris. Not that there's a problem with that. It's just not a traditional way to look at a puzzle game, and thank goodness for that. If developers like Capybara Games didn't exist then we might never have a chance for something like Critter Crunch to come out, in all its adorable rainbow vomit glory."
[ 8.6 ] IGN PS3 says "If the name "Critter Crunch" sounds like a cheap casual game or some sort of animal sim aimed at kids, I'm right there with you. But Capybara's beautiful puzzle game is anything but. This is a highly polished effort with a unique take on the "colored object clearing" genre. "

While managing to pull off such a bizarre twist on one of Mother Nature’s more gross-out moments in a tasteful, stylish way is definitely impressive, Critter Crunch has a lot more going for it than Furbies that barf psychedelic spew. It's also a damn fine puzzle game to boot."
